Juniper Titmouse in Horsethief painting unframed

600.00

Painting for illustrations commissioned by Ken Sanders Rare Books and Back of Beyond Books for broadsides to celebrate the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the publication of Edward Abbey’s “Desert Solitaire: A Season in the Wilderness.” 12”x18” unframed.

(The last two images are of the letterpressed and digitally printed broadsides, which are available from Ken Sanders Rare Books and Back of Beyond Books).

To create these paintings I visited southern Utah in the summer of 2018. Depicted is a juniper titmouse who visited my campsite in Horsethief and drank the melted ice water from my cooler.
